Walter came to Excelerate Performance in early 2015 with a brand spankin’ new MK7 Volkswagen Golf R looking for some upgrades. With a mere 248 miles on the clock this had to be the lowest mileage car we have flashed with APR software. It all started at stage 1, then came stage 2, then we installed minor suspension, interior, and exterior components here and ther. We began to see just how enthusiastic Walter was so see the gains to be had from modifications. We knew the bug bit hard and I am not quite sure Walter knew what he was getting into until he mentioned that when he finds a hobby he goes 100%, all in. He wasn’t kidding, if you saw this mans arsenal of video and photography equipment you would know just how serious these words mean.
Setting budget and power goals are quite valuable when picking an upgrade path to take, especially in a modern day Volkswagen, the paths break off into trails. I am not sure Walter knew what he was in for long term, but with a little bit of guidance and proactive research Walter has landed himself a winning combo that is not only fast and fun to drive, the car has also been proven reliable.
