Alan came to us with the same goal in mind as most customers: he wanted to get the most out of his car and didn’t want to cut corners when it came to craftsmanship! As an experienced Honda/Acura shop, we love working on forced induction HOA. Check out the Type R or Si we built recently.
Initially, Alan took advantage of a seasonal sale we offered, and decided it was time to pull the trigger one something he had on the back of his mind for a while… getting a Kraftwerks Supercharger kit on his AP2 S2000!
The Honda S2000 is a blast from the factory, offering an 8k redline and handling like it is on rails. However, the torque figure can be a little underwhelming, and is considered as one of the few downfalls of this platform by some. Nevertheless, the Kraftwerks kit boasts 410whp and 210 ft. lbs of torque out of the box!
We installed this kit on his tastefully modified S2000 rolling on Volk Racing CE28s filled with plenty of carbon fiber goodies, wide fenders, and more! The Kraftwerks kit comes with everything you need to get the car up and running from Rotrex unit to the intercooler, right down to fueling and tuning! We opened the box and got to install:
Since the Kraftwerks kit offers such a large gain over stock, an upgraded clutch is necessary to make sure the transmission can handle all the extra power! We solved this by getting rid of his old factory clutch and replacing it with an ACT HD street clutch kit and ACT lightweight flywheel. This kit will take up to 370 ft. lbs, giving Alan some room to grow without compromising drive-ability
As a result, we couldn’t install the Kraftwerks kit without doing a boost gauge as well. As if the whine of the supercharger isn’t enough, he will now have something to remind him why his car is such a blast every time he gets into the driver’s seat. Altogether we went with an AEM digital gauge (also offered in this kit), to continue with the best of the best for Alan’s car!
