APR has just released APR Plus and Stage 1 ECU Upgrades for the new R8 V10, R8 V10 Plus, R8 V10 RSW, Lamborghini Huracán RWD LP580-2 and the Huracán LP610-4! This covers support for all new V10 engines other than the LP640. We are hyped.
This new upgrade includes APR Program Switching and APR Mobile support, and APR Plus, which includes a Limited Powertrain Warranty.
Normally, you can’t expect much from software tunes on naturally aspirated engines. This is where APR came to play, and brought over +100hp to the base R8 V10 models to start. Talk about serious gains. The upgrade supports 91 AKI, 93 AKI, and E60-E85 ethanol in North America and 95 RON, 98 RON and E60-E85 ethanol in the rest of the world.

Here’s an excerpt from the geniuses themselves:
“The ECU Upgrade supports left foot braking, speed limiter removal, a 9,000 RPM rev limiter in manual mode (and all other modes with a TCU Upgrade), fully adjusted thermal management, optimized throttle, intake and exhaust flaps, lambda control, port / DI split, cam phasing, ignition timing and more for increased power and torque. The factory power and torque gauges have been adjusted to match the new output. Program switching can support up to 4 programs at once and includes an optional valet mode that greatly limits vehicle speed and RPM. Furthermore, we’ve included an optional quite cold start mode that tones down the exhaust upon startup, which is surely to make your neighbors happier!”
+100hp gains and a way to keep the neighbors happy?! Too sweet, APR. Too sweet.
There’s going to be 10 different variations offered on the server to start. Additional variations will be made available upon request. This covers engine codes CSPA, CSPB, DKAA, DKAB, CSJB, CSJC, DGFA, DGFB and DKBC.
Some quick facts:
  • E85 modes are not Flex Fuel. The software is only designed for use with E60-E85. Please read our fuel guides before using Ethanol.
  • Large swings in power can be seen if the engine is not properly cooled on the dyno. Good airflow across all coolers and into the side blades are necessary or you may see large differences in power. This is contrary to the vehicle on the road which sees plenty of airflow through all coolers.
  • A good catback exhaust will likely results in a power increase and no file change is necessary.
  • Good intake air filters will likely results in a power increase and no file change is necessary. However, intake systems that modify the MAF sensor are not recommended as they may alter the critical MAF signals.
